Watch Martin Short Tell A Hilarious Fake Story About Bill Paxton

Martin Short’s a pretty funny comedian, and when he appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon this week, it made sense to use his comedic skills for the game “Word Sneak.” During the segment, Fallon and Short came up with wilder and wilder stories in order to “sneak” random words into the conversation. Watch the two men lying through their teeth, below.

“Word Sneak” is actually a pretty deft craft, but Martin Short crushes it. During the segment, the comedian got onto a roll with his storytelling, beginning to talk about “drunks in the audience.” At the time, Bill Paxton was the word he was trying to sneak into the conversation, and he tells a ridiculous story about seeing Bill Paxton removed from a theater.

You know, sometimes, listen, you get drunks in the audience... Bill Paxton was there the other day. He was like, “Oy, this play is stupid.” And he got up and they pulled him right out. And then they ripped his shirt right off, because he was fighting the security… who knew he was covered in back hair?

You have to hand it to the man. That entire story was concocted in order to say the words “Bill Paxton” and “back hair,” a feat I’m unsure the average individual could achieve in the middle of a conversation. However, Fallon rolls with it, and also tells the hilarious story of the time he and Bill Paxton wrestled shirtless while wearing Velcro shoes. Poor Bill Paxton is the brunt of a lot really funny tall tales, here, but hopefully he should appreciate the incredible storytelling skill sets the two men bring to the table in the video above.

Short appeared on The Tonight Show on Thursday night, popping up to promote his new book I Must Say: My Life As A Humble Comedy Legend, and to tell some real stories related to the book, as well. This isn’t the first time that Short and Fallon have seen each other this week, however. Both Jimmy Fallon and Martin Short were a part of Saturday Night Live’s big SNL 40 celebration last Sunday, which also featured appearances from a slew of other celebrities, including Eddie Murphy, Mike Meyers, Tom Hanks, Alec Baldwin, Tina Fey, Amy Poehler, Bill Murray, Chevy Chase, Kristin Wiig, and many, many more.

Now, Fallon just needs to get all of those other big names on to The Tonight Show to play some weird but fun games and sketches. I vote Amy Poehler for a lip sync battle. You heard it here, first.

You can catch new episodes of NBC’s The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on weeknights at 11:35 p.m. ET.
