If only I could have the Harry Potter theme song playing in the background of this article. Amuse me and just pretend. Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince will be available to own on DVD and Blu-Ray December 8th! This may seem trivial as compared to the news of The Wizarding World of Harry Potter opening at Universal Orlando Resort next year, but it’s still something to be excited about.

In the sixth installment of the Harry Potter film series, we find Voldemort increasing his presence amongst the wizarding realm, as well as the Muggle one. With the help of Professor Horace Slughorn (Jim Broadbent), Dumbledore (Michael Gambon) tries to prepare Harry (Daniel Radcliff) for the inevitable final battle with the Dark Lord. Things aren’t all doom and gloom at the castle, however. Teenage hormones run rampant through the school, and everyone seems to have the love bug. Harry and Dean Thomas vie for Ginny’s (Bonnie Wright) heart, while Lavender Brown has an unusually intense effect on Ron’s (Rupert Grint) emotions. It’s no surprise that the one student who doesn’t have any love to give is Malfoy (Tom Felton); in fact, he has a score to settle.

I don’t need a wand or the power of persuasion to convince you to buy this movie. You’ll have the option of purchasing a one-disc DVD, a two-disc DVD, or a three-disc BD/DVD combo. No word on prices yet, but odds are, money won’t be an object in this case. The full specs have also yet to be released, but I have high hopes they’ll live up to the series’ magical standards. We’ll keep you posted on any developments.
