CD Projekt Red's The Witcher 3 still has some new content on the horizon, and lately there has been radio silence on when it will be arriving. Well, the release date for the new expansion pack may have just been leaked thanks to a Polish gaming website that listed the release date as June 7.

IGN picked up the news from WCCF Tech, where they had managed to scavenge a release date out of listing from the Polish gaming website GRYOnline, which is a little bit like a Polish version of IGN.

The listing on GRYOnline is no longer available, but the other two sites state that the Blood and Wine expansion for The Witcher 3 was set for June 7th. This would have it arriving just ahead of all the chaos surrounding E3.

The date seems a little suspicious only because you garner more heat and more attention releasing after E3. A lot of people will be talking about the products coming out of the trade show, and releasing a large scale expansion ahead of an event like E3 seems like a counter-productive move.

Even Warner Bros and Rocksteady wanted to take advantage of the E3 festivities by launching Batman: Arkham Knight a week after the event wrapped up. You still manage to use the event itself to bolster hype and then use the cool-down period thereafter to release the product and profit. Only hopefully CD Projekt doesn't run into the PC problems with the Blood and Wine expansion pack the way Warner Bros did with Arkham Knight.

Most gamers shouldn't worry about tech specs considering that CD Projekt has been known for giving the PC platform a lot of love. The only major hiccup they had with the initial release of The Witcher 3 last year was with the Nvidia Gameworks. Otherwise it was solid.

As for Blood and Wine... the expansion is said to contain at least 20 additional hours of gameplay on top of what you get from the base game. There will be all new quests, side-quests and characters to interact with, battle against and even romance.

The developers noted that the size of the expansion is said to be about as big as the main areas from the original release of The Witcher 3.

This is the second major expansion for the open-world, action-RPG. The first one was called Hearts of Stone. It released for $9.99 a while back and opened up some additional adventures for Geralt of Rivia. The second and upcoming expansion pack, Blood and Wine, will carry a slightly heftier price of $19.99. The content is expected to match the price.

The Witcher 3 has been heralded and praised amongst most critics and gamers alike, with many feeling as if it captured a very well-rounded and expansive world. The location and screenshots of the new expansion showcase a beautiful, Spanish villa-style setup for the main city and a lot of splashes color and exotic architecture. If the rumors are to be believed, gamers could be getting their hands on the new content as soon as June 7.
