Now that we know Call of Duty: World War II is definitely happening, series fans have started clamoring for any additional details that can be dug up concerning plot, characters, in-game locales, etc. Due to some recent cyber sleuthing, folks may have actually discovered one of the stars of the game.
Okay, maybe the term "light internet stalking" may be a better way to describe how folks uncovered this particular detail, but it looks like Josh Duhamel might be one of the main characters in Call of Duty: World War II. Even if you're not familiar with the name, you've probably seen him on the silver screen a number of times, as he's appeared in several of the Transformers movies and is set to return in The Last Knight.
Apparently, a couple of screenshots from the new Call of Duty game leaked online early recently, with folks making sure to grab plenty of screen grabs before Activision took them down. Folks noticed that one of the soldiers in one of the images looked familiar and, according to Charlie Intel, a few quick searches on the internet turned up some pretty convincing results that Duhamel will be in the game.
Based on what we've seen, it looks like Josh Duhamel might be playing one of your allies in World War II but, again, we need to stress at this point that everything is still based on rumors. Sure, they're rumors with a lot of evidence supporting them, but we've heard nothing official from Activision just yet.
Over on his Twitter, Duhamel posted a picture of himself in a motion capture suit a while back without explanation. It's definitely the kind of suit typically used for recording performances for video games, complete with a camera geared toward capturing facial performances.
Most telling, though, is that Duhamel recently started following the Call of Duty Twitter feed.
While much of the Transformers cast has been fluid over the years, one of the series mainstays has been William Lennox. He started out as Captain and, in The Last Knight, he's moving on up in the ranks to Lieutenant. He's one of the more recognizable, and surviving, members of the rag-tag group of American soldiers who have always had the backs of the robots in disguise.
While Duhamel has been in a number of other projects, Transformers is definitely his biggest, most recognizable role.
So, yeah, while nothing has been confirmed yet, it seems pretty likely that Duhamel is, indeed, in Call of Duty: World War II.
