One of the Xbox One X's biggest selling points is that games will look better on Microsoft's latest piece of hardware. While they've got first party teams improving various games, Bethesda has announced they're putting some additional TLC into a pair of titles to make sure they truly shine on the One X: Wolfenstein II and The Evil Within II.
While the Xbox One X doesn't offer exclusive games or additional features, its extra horsepower is certainly good for making great-looking games look even better in 4K Ultra HD. While Microsoft announced during E3 2017 a slate of titles that will be enhanced by Xbox One X, Gamespot recently picked up on a pair of new additions to that list, both coming from Bethesda.
What really set Bethesda's E3 showing apart from the pack was that all of the games in its admittedly short presentation were confirmed to launch within this calendar year. Two of the games that successfully drummed up hype were Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus and The Evil Within 2. According to Gamespot, Microsoft recently updated the official Xbox website to flag both of these games as "Xbox One X Enhanced." In other words, Bethesda is putting in some extra effort to make sure both Wolfenstein and TEW will look sharper on the Xbox One X than on any other console. Since both of those games are going to be especially violent and full of gore, we're not sure if that's a selling point for you readers. For those of you who enjoy your viscera looking especially realistic, though, get ready to be bathed in its 4K glory.
Of course, you don't need a 4K television to take advantage of the Xbox One X. Yes, that's the only way to get the most out of its extra processing power and whatnot, but even folks with standard televisions should be able to notice an up-tick in quality.
Of course, all of those spiffy new graphics and faster processing is going to cost you. Come November 7, you can get your hands on the Xbox One X for $499. Whether or not that's worth half a grand is entirely up to you.
And if you're wondering when those Bethesda games will arrive, we've got your reminder right here. While The Evil Within 2 is set to scare the bejesus out of gamers just in time for Halloween on Oct. 13, the latter is prepared to let you hunt down Nazis on October. 27.
