Bethesda released the first in a series of development diaries for Dishonored today. The first entry, called "Inception," introduces the development team at Arkane Studios and their vision for the steampunk action game.
Dishonored puts players into the role of Corvo, a supernatural assassin. He was formerly a bodyguard to the Empress. She was killed and he was framed for the crime. After escaping from prison, he embarks on a quest for vengeance.
The exact methods of assassination are left up to the player. Arkane wanted to make a game that would be suitable to slower-paced, stealthy players as well as action junkies. Missions will evolve according to the choices you make. The design team has to accommodate for all of the players' possible decisions while also presenting a strong narrative and vivid setting.
Dishonored is due in the second week of October. You can read more about it in our E3 preview.
