Following up on the super action-packed video from E3 for Resident Evil 6, Capcom also released some brand new screenshots featuring the game's single-player campaign, the new multiplayer mode and a bit of the co-op functionality.

The screenshots, in my opinion, are actually much more intriguing than the lengthy E3 trailer. The difference between the two is that the screenshots give a lot to think about, especially in regards to the situations and scenarios presented, as well as the possibilities that they present. Capcom's PR definitely did a good job selecting the following screenshots because for the first time in a long I'm actually curious about Resident Evil 6 instead of being bored by the action-oriented angle the company keeps promoting.

I also find it funny that in one of the screenshots Leon is taking down some zombies and the screenshots are supposedly from the PS3 version but it shows the 'Y' button to switch buttons. Hilarious.

Anyways, Jake and Sherry outrunning the Ustanak in the alley seems like a pretty intense horror-survival moment, and Piers trapped in that room with the highly deformed guy with large bladed arm seems like it could end up being pretty gruesome for one or the other. Talk about a screenshot that captures suspense and intensity.

You can check out the new screenshots below or learn more about the game by visiting the Official Website. Resident Evil 6 is set to launch this summer for the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC.
