Today Activision sent out the first screenshots from Fast and Furious: Showdown. The game, based on the Fast and Furious action films, will be arriving this May on multiple platforms.

Showdown's storyline spans the entire film series. It serves as a bridge from the older films to the upcoming Fast and Furious 6. Players will be able to experience the story from multiple characters' points of view.

The campaign features 31 missions spread across 8 locations. Each mission can be played with either an A.I. or human companion. Players will pull off hijacks, escort missions, high-speed escapes and more. Leaderboards will allow them to see how they stack up against friends.

The game's in development for PS3, Xbox 360, and Wii U. It'll cost $39.99 on all platforms. The bargain price suggests we shouldn't expect too much from the game. Hopefully it's better than Activision's recent licensed game Walking Dead: Survival Instinct.

Activision will release Showdown on May 21st in North America and on May 24th in Europe. It's the same week that Fast and Furious 6 will arrive in theaters.
