It's Tuesday, which means it's time for another dose of PlayStation Plus Goodness is headed our way. This week's offerings include a souped-up retro shooter and a bunch of discounts on games from the Call of Duty franchise.

Revealed last week as being a part of the September Instant Game collection, Galaga Legions DX is finally being rolled out to the masses as a free game. Old school gamers should instantly recognize that name, as Galaga Legions DX is a send up to one of the most played classic arcade games of all time.

But Legions DX isn't just receiving a shiny new paint job. According to the PlayStation Blog, the new graphics are complemented by “devastating weapon power-ups” and, of course, a thumping retooled soundtrack, brand new levels and big boss battles.

“Board your fighter and prepare to defend Earth from wave after wave of relentless aliens,” reads the official announcement. “Target your enemies' critical weak spots to earn bonuses and rack up an astronomical score.”

If you're looking for a bit of nostalgia with a shiny new coat of paint and loads of new content, then Plus members can start downloading Galaga Legions DX as soon as the PSN store update goes live later this afternoon.

Part of the PS Vita Summer Select Sale, Dragon Fantasy Book II will launch today with an instant discount for Plus subscribers. The tongue-in-cheek nod to classic RPGs arrives on PSN today for $14.99, but can be had for just $11.99 if you're Plus-ing it up. The PS Vita's Doodle God is also receiving a discount today, marked down from $5.99 to just $4.49 for subscribers.

Finally, both the Call of Duty series and Aliens: Colonial Marines are receiving a bunch of discounts today. The full list can be found on the PS Blog post, but a few of the COD highlights include Black Ops II with the Revolution map pack for just $44.99, Black Ops II and its Season Pass for $84.59 and a bunch of other game/DLC bundles.

Colonial Marines savings are a bit more drastic, however. The game proper can be yours for $8.99 with the Ultimate Bundle being up for grabs at $17.99. There are also a bunch of half off discounts for individual bits of DLC, for the tens of you who have already purchased the game.

And that'll about do it for this week. Look for those PS Plus games and savings later today when the PlayStation Store undergoes its weekly update.
