If you've ever wondered who would win in a fight between Batman and Superman, we now know when such questions will finally be answered. Developer NetherRealm will be bringing its super-powered fighting game, Injustice: God Among Us to home consoles sometime in April of 2013. Also, new trailer!

The creators of the Mortal Kombat series, NetherRealm's first trip into the DC universe was the appropriately titled Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe. That game received a lukewarm reception with most critics basically saying something along the lines of “nowhere near as bad as you would think.” Now taking their second crack at characters from the comic book giant's stable, NetherRealm looks to be pulling out all of the stops in order to make a dark and gritty brawler for the likes of The Flash and Harley Quinn.

Now that NetherRealm has revealed an April 2013 launch date for Xbox 360, the PS3 and Wii U, the folks behind the game have also unleashed a new brutal trailer during this week's Tokyo Game Show.

Injustice clearly takes a few pages from HighMoon's most recent Mortal Kombat game, which managed to revitalize and revolutionize the storied series all at the same time. Everything from Injustice's characters models to their move sets and environments looks like it was cut from the same cloth, and that is a very good thing, indeed.

With seven months left to finish up the game, here's hoping Injustice: Gods Among Us shapes up to be a big win for fighting fans and comic book nerds alike.
