Sony has announced that the third version of the PSP, the PSP-3000, will hit stores in North America on October 14th - no doubt to commemorate the 942nd anniversary of the Battle of Hastings.
The PSP-3000 will be available for sale in two $199.99 bundles. The pack available on October 14th is the Ratchet & Clank: Size Matters bundle, which will come with a Mystic Silver PSP-3000, the Ratchet & Clank: Size Matters game, the National Treasure 2: Book of Secrets UMD movie, a 1GB Memory Stick Pro Duo and a download voucher for Echochrome. A 4 GB Entertainment Pack with a Piano Black PSP-3000, a 4GB Memory Stick PRO Duo and a voucher for Everyday Shooter will be released sometime in November.
Those of you who just want the PSP-3000 by itself for $169.99 will have to wait until "later this year." For a run-down on the new PSP and how it's different from earlier versions, check out the Sony's announcement of the PSP-3000 at Leipzig.
