Bugbear Entertainment, the same minds behind the original Flatout games for the PlayStation 2 and Xbox, have decided to step back into the limelight and create a dynamic new physics-based racing title, presumably for next-gen consoles and PC.

Blues News picked up on the announcement from BugBear, who stated that...
Best known for our critically acclaimed, multi-million selling “FlatOut” series (FlatOut, FlatOut 2, FlatOut: Ultimate Carnage), team Bugbear is going to deliver the definitive demolition derby racing game.

We’re doing it because nobody else seems capable of delivering the kind of game our fans have been asking from us every week. We feel that there hasn’t been a proper demolition derby game in years. It’s about time they got an answer.

Yeah I concur.

Bugbear didn't just drop some hints about their new game, they dropped a wicked new trailer showcasing some high-fidelity car physics being totally destroyed in an arena. Check it out below.

I don't know how well this will work out, focusing a game around the entirety of a destruction derby, but Bugbear has done it before so I trust they'll be able to do it again.

Right now they're just getting the word out there and letting gamers know that they're aiming to dive head-first into the niche genre once again. You can learn more or sign up for the newsletter by visiting the official Bugbear Entertainment website.
