At QuakeCon, id Software nailed down the exact release date for their post-apocalyptic shooter RAGE. Unfortunately, it's very far away.
RAGE will hit North America on September 13th, 2011. The European launch will occur on the 16th. I'd say mark it on your calendar but I'm guessing you don't own one for next year yet.
While it sucks to wait another year, there's a bright side to the news. id Software wouldn't have named specific dates if they didn't think they could deliver the game then. If there was some uncertainty, they would've kept it vague and said something like "Fall 2011."
