FarSight Studios is about to boldly go where no man has gone before, bringing the Star Trek: The Next Generation table to The Pinball Arcade once the PlayStation Network update goes live this afternoon.
Speaking of The Twilight Zone, that table was actually funded through Kickstarter, as footing the bill for the ridiculous amount of necessary licensing was beyond FarSight’s means. Following the success of the Twilight Zone Kickstarter, however, the team decided to use the same crowd funding method to make the Star Trek table a reality.
“For those who don’t know, we owe a huge amount of thanks to the generosity and dedication of our backers on Kickstarter,” said Lead Designer Bobby King in a recent post on the PlayStation Blog. “We continue to be amazed and humbled by the tremendous outpouring of support that our game has received from all of our fans.”
Considered one of the best pinball tables ever built, Star Trek: The Next Generation will join the Pinball Arcade library for both the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita once PSN updates later this afternoon.
