Capcom has lifted the lid on both the minimum and maximum PC system requirements for Street Fighter X Tekken, while also confirming Microsoft's Games For Windows Live for the version.

The minimum specs, which should run with a 800 x 600 resolution at 30 FPS, are:

  • HDD: 10GB of free space (or more).
  • CPU: Intel Dual Core 1.8GHz (or higher) or AMD Athlon II X2 (or higher).
  • RAM: 1GB (or higher).
  • Video Card: DirectX 9.0c / Shader3.0 or higher compatible nVidia GF6600 (or higher) or ATi X1600 (or higher) with 256MB of RAM.

Meanwhile, Street Fighter X Tekken's recommended specs, running at 1280 x 720 resolution at 60 FPS, are:

Games for Windows Live copy protection is utilized for the title, accompanied with a one-time online key activation. Online distribution services Steam and Origin are currently taking pre-orders, who are joined by GameFly, GamersGate and GameStop. European retailers, meanwhile, will feature a physical retail version.

Capcom has promised that downloadable content will not be locked onto the disk, which was exactly the case for the fighter's console versions. Patches will instead be delivered that offer the content as they become completed for the PC. The patches are free while the game's paid content are at first locked. Players will have to purchase an unlock key to gain access to the premium content.

The controversial publisher also stated the only aspects differentiating the PC and console versions are full screen mode, support for various resolutions, a benchmark tool and keyboard support. While there is no DirectX 11 support, NVidia's 3D vision is compatible on the PC version.

Street Fighter X Tekken is due for a release on PC come May 11th in North America and 14th in Europe.
