Spoilers ahead for the most recent episode of Survivor 50 "The Blood Moon."
Survivor 50 is in full swing, offering another wildly entertaining entry for one of the best reality shows ever. The most recent episode was no doozy, as "The Blood Moon" saw the biggest merge ever, as well as a whopping three contestants voted out. I finished Episode 6 (which is streaming with a Paramount+ subscription) thinking about how powerful the trio of of Ozzy, Rizo, and Cirie appear, although two-time player Rob Cesternino told CinemaBlend about why the latter might end up in danger due to her allies.
The cast of Survivor 50 has brought New Era and classic players together, and perhaps nowhere is that more obvious than in the partnership that's grown between newbie Rizo and OGs Cirie and Ozzy. I'm speaking weekly with the Rob Has A Podcast network founder Rob Cesternino about each new episode, and he shared his perspective on where Cirie stands. When discussing the idols that both Rizo and Ozzy have, he offered:
Article continues belowThey can't boomerang to anybody else. But now a little bit it comes without the risk, but also they're a little bit less powerful than the normal idol. Because the normal idol, they could play those idols on Cirie. They can only play these idols on themselves. These idols were non-transferable, that was part of the rules. So they sort of have idol that are known quantities. Cirie is a little bit in a dangerous position of: Rizzo has an idol he can only play on himself. Ozzy has an idol he can only play on himself. The one person in this trio who doesn't have that idol protection is Cirie and neither of them can play it on her. So if this becomes like a known trio, she's in a little bit of a vulnerable position.
Well, now I'm nervous. There's a reason Cesternino is known as the Survivor know-it-all, and that's his ability to look at the game from a variety of different perspectives. And while this trio alliance may be in possession of two Immunity Idols and an extra vote, Cirie is the only one who cannot have a idol played or her. So if the other players try to target them, she'd be the easy vote.
Paramount+: from $8.99 a month/$89.99 a year
Survivor is streaming over on Paramount+. Between the Essential plan running $8.99 a month and the ad-free Premium option at $13.99 a month, there's plenty to choose from with the streaming service.
The great Cirie Fields has been in some of the best Survivor seasons, but she's also had some historically poor luck with twists. In Micronesia they surprised the final three with one more vote, with Cirie ending up left on the cutting room floor courtesy of Parvati and Amanda. Then there was her time on Game Changers, where she was eliminated by default without having a single vote cast against her thanks to how many advantages/idols were played at once.
So could the rules of the Billie Eilish Boomerang Idol end up messing with her game? Only time will tell. In our chat Cesternino joked about the various ways Cirie has been sabotaged by game twists, saying:
Survivor keeps coming up with new and creative ways to screw over Cirie. And I think that we might have found a little bit of like, oh, this is new. We haven't seen her get burned by this particular thing before.
Aside from how much money Survivor contestants make, the reasons for Cirie's eliminations are one of the game's largest mysteries. Rob Cesternino can see a path for Rizo to get deep into Season 50, but I'm eager to see whether or not he and Cirie can continue their partnership and play the game together. There certainly does seem to be trust between the pair, as well as Ozzy.

Survivor airs new episodes Wednesdays on CBS, and streaming the next day on Paramount+ as part of the 2026 TV schedule. Lots of us fans are hoping to see Cirie pull off a W, but it feels like just about anything could happen on Season 50... including more celebrity cameos.
