Batman Takes LEGO Form In Newest Character Poster

The last time we saw a live-action Batman was Christian Bale’s final act of gravel-voiced heroism in last year’s The Dark Knight Rises, and we’ll next see Ben Affleck don the cowl in Zack Snyder’s Man of Steel sequel. But in between those two movies, there can only be one, and his name is Will Arnett. Well, his name is Batman, but he’ll be voiced by the vocal genius of Arnett for Phil Lord and Chris Miller’s upcoming animated supercomedy The LEGO Movie, and he’s got his own character poster now, as does the mad villain Lord Business, played by Will Arnett, which you can see below.

My first thought: I can’t believe they didn’t unleash the Batman poster right away, because he’s obviously the greatest character in history, fiction or nonfiction. My second thought: this is a pretty boring poster, as it just the masked hero standing in front of a darkened city, with the team vehicle seen in the background. Considering how much they’re playing him to be this pompous ass in the trailers, I’d have expected some kind of a joke here, but instead it’s just the sneer.

The Lord Business poster isn’t much more interesting, though it’s sort of funny that his headpiece is so gigantic that there’s no room for anything else in the poster. Business is dead set on destroying the LEGO world by gluing all the pieces together, and that gigantic eyebrow makes him look menacing enough to complete such a callous act.

All in all, these two aren’t up to snuff with the previously released posters of Charlie Day and Morgan Freeman’s characters, both of whom will be assisting Emmet (Chris Pratt) in taking Lord Business down. Other heroic team members include Wyldstyle (Elizabeth Banks), Superman (Channing Tatum), Green Lantern (Jonah Hill), Wonder Woman (Cobie Smulders) and Uni-Kitty (Alison Brie). The film will also star Nick Offerman as Metal Beard and Liam Neeson as Bad Cop/Good Cop, which you can see below.

The LEGO Movie is set to build its exciting adventure in theaters on February 7, 2014. Can I count on seeing all of you there?
