Brian Wilson Beached For A Biopic

If you thought Johnny Cash was messed up, just wait until Hollywood tackles Brian Wilson. Variety is reporting that the number one Beach Boy has made a deal to have his life story turned into a feature film.

The deal being put together will include the rights to Wilson's songs, which makes sense since you'd kind of want those in the movie. Producer Mark Gordon is putting the whole thing together, and he's teamed up with David Leaf who filmed Wilson for his documentary Beautiful Dreamer. There's no writer attached yet, but they're working on it.

Wilson is revered as one of the most influential musicians of 20th century, and like so many geniuses he's also considered completely off his rocker. He's credited with most of the success of the Beach Boys, and he inspired a pretty kickass Bare Naked Ladies song about lying in bed. After ditching the Beach Boys he spent 5 years there, under the covers, drugging out and getting ridiculously fat. He's had ups and downs, and now he's out and about, but 96% deaf. A Brian Wilson movie should be beyond the reckoning of mortal men, a mix of hard drugs and big buckets of chicken wings.
