Channing Tatum Wants To Make A Male Stripper Movie

"I'm going to be getting back in my thong again." -- Channing Tatum

OK, you still with me? Hopefully you've all had a moment to regain your breath after reading the above quote, and now you're back to learn that no, I'm not messing with you-- Channing Tatum really did say that. Talking to The Sydney Morning Herald for some reason (via Vulture), Tatum brought up his past as a male stripper, and the fact that he wants to make a movie about his exploits.

"I've already got the director picked out. I'd like Nicolas Refn, who did the movie Bronson, to do it because he's insane for it. It needs to be a crazy film and I think it's also possible to do a cute, romantic movie."

Some of you may have seen another crazy recent film in which Tatum spends a lot of time shirtless, last year's Fighting, and if you stayed through the whole thing you probably feel, as I do, that more shirtless Channing Tatum is never a bad thing. I have no idea how much power Tatum has to get a film made or even how serious he is about the idea, but man, can you imagine the gay audience for this thing? Not to mention all the women who aren't brave enough to track down a male stripper in real life, but sure wouldn't mind one at the movies.

Below is a video of Tatum as a stripper in the late 90s-- in case you couldn't guess the date from the blatant Backstreet Boys reference. You're welcome.
