Charlize Theron Makes Lots Of Enemies In Two Young Adult Clips

After keeping it under wraps for much of the fall, Paramount is finally unveiling Young Adult, the new collaboration between Juno's director Jason Reitman and writer Diablo Cody. Starring Charlize Theron as a fiction writer who might be an even worse person than her Snow White and the Huntsman wicked queen, Young Adult is reportedly dark and mean-spirited but also funny. You get a sense of all three of those things in two new clips that have debuted online (a third showed up at Apple yesterday). Check out both of them below.

Both of these scenes are teased in the movie's excellent trailer, but it's good to see how they play out in what's more like their full versions-- I'm guessing from the fact that there's no profanity that each of these have been trimmed a bit. I especially like the face Theron makes while stuffing the doughnut "for honors members only" in her face-- this is a woman who does not give a shit what you think, and is willing to piss off pretty much anyone who gets in the way of her own selfish interests.

Young Adult won't be in theaters until December 9, but you can count on hearing a lot more about it soon, as the press tour starts to ramp up (the New York junket is happening this weekend). With plenty of Oscar buzz surrounding both Theron and Patton Oswalt, there will definitely be plenty of talk about it in the coming weeks. Welcome to the hardcore part of Oscar season!
