It feels like only yesterday that Jason Reitman and Diablo Cody paired up to make Juno. The film was a critical and box office smash that ended up being nominated for four Academy Awards and winning Best Original Screenplay. The truth is, however, that four years have passed since the pregnant hipster teen made her way into theaters, but now Cody and Reitman are back with their newest collaboration, Young Adult, and today Paramount Pictures has posted the first image from the film.
In the film Charlize Theron plays Mavis Gary, a young adult fiction writer who, following her divorce, returns to her hometown. While there, she tries to rekindle her relationship with her high school sweetheart, Buddy Slade (Patrick Wilson). The problem is that Buddy is now married and has kids, leaving her to instead reconnect with another classmate (Patton Oswalt) who finds himself in a hole similar to Mavis'.
