Since February the folks behind Skyfall, the new James Bond adventure due out later this year, have been posting video blogs that take us behind the scenes of the film and feature interviews with the cast and crew. It began with director Sam Mendes, who spoke of his passion for the project and how he ended up with the job, and that was followed by an interview with Berenice Marlohe, one of the new Bond girls that star Daniel Craig will undoubtedly be wooing. But what about the main stars, namely the hero and the big bad, set to be played by Javier Bardem? Today 007.com has delivered.
A new video has gone up on the film's official website that features Craig talking about where Bond is now as a character, Bardem discussing what it means to be a part of the James Bond universe, and Marlohe on the legacy of the franchise. Check it out!
While it's a minor moment, I do find it interesting that Craig refers to Bardem's character, Silva, as a "super villain." While he may just be using the word to mean "really powerful bad guy," I'm still hoping that Silva ends up being a Blofeld-type character who is more about the big picture than what we've previously seen in Daniel Craig's 007 adventures. Whether or not that will end up being the cast is still a mystery.
Skyfall hits theaters on November 9th and also stars Dame Judi Dench, Ralph Fiennes, Albert Finney, Naomie Harris, Helen McCrory, Ola Rapace and Ben Whishaw. To see more from the film, head over to our Blend Film Database.
