Hairspray Lands A Stylist

Hairspray is a campy 1988 John Waters movie about an overweight lady who wants to be a dancer, of all things. It's a happy romp full of transsexuals and happening moves on the dance floor. You can't have a real party without at least a few transsexuals present.

The film was turned into a super-successful Broadway musical, that even snagged a few Tony awards. Now for reasons completely out of my mental grasp, they are remaking the movie based on the play based on the musical. My head hurts.

According to Hollywood Reporter, Adam Shankman is directing the movie. He brought us such classics as Bringing Down The House and The Pacifier. John Waters must be cringing somewhere.
