David Ayer knows cop drama. After growing up in South Central Los Angeles he found his niche in Hollywood directing and/or writing movies like Training Day, Dark Blue, The Fast and the Furious and Harsh Times. His latest film, End of Watch, once again takes us into the gritty world of the NYPD and now a brand new Red Band trailer has arrived online to show it off. Check it out!

Watching this trailer I'm not so much struck by the violence or the tone of the story, but rather the cinematography. It looks as though Ayer has constructed some very strange rigs for this movie and it looks unlike anything he's ever done before. I do wonder if the style will be kind to audiences over the span of two hours, but we'll just have to wait and see.

The plot centers around Officer Taylor and Officer Zavala, two cops at the peak of their game and slowly working on crushing the crime presence in their area of Los Angeles. One day, during a routine pull over, a massive firefight explodes and Taylor and Zavala find themselves the victors. On closer inspection of the car they discover a cache of money and firearms that suggest they have stepped into something way above their pay grade. Suddenly they find a target on their backs and must find a way to save their own lives. Ayer both wrote and directed the film, which also stars Anna Kendrick, Magic Mike's Cody Horn, America Ferrera, and Frank Grillo.

End of Watch will be released on September 28th and you can see more from the movie in our Blend Film Database.
