If you haven't already heard, the buzz around Sam Mendes' Skyfall, the newest film in the James Bond series, is off the charts. A number of critics and journalists got to see the movie this past weekend, including our very own Katey Rich, and the praise was overwhelming (Katey said of the film, "With a perfect mix of classic Bond tropes and fresh, modern style, Skyfall is vital, thrilling and consistently surprising; it's as good as Bond has ever been, and a more than convincing argument that James Bond matters more now than ever before.") As though the movie weren't anticipated enough, this news should send Bond fans into fits of mad joy, and today we have the best cure: a brand new clip.

Giving us our first extended look at Javier Bardem's character, Raul Silva, the scene features a confrontation between the hero and the villain, and as you can imagine it ends pretty explosively. Check out the clip below and see it in HD over on Apple.

I don't know about you, but after watching that scene for the first time my jaw was on that floor. That's some pretty awesome stuff right there.

The 23rd title in the 007 franchise, the new movie finds James Bond working to protect MI6 against a deadly attack while also finding himself questioning his loyalty to M (Dame Judi Dench) after a dark secret from her past is revealed. Ralph Fiennes, Berenice Marlohe, Ben Whishaw, Helen McCrory, Rory Kinear, and Albert Finney are also featured and you'll be able to see the film on November 9th.
