Jonathan Rhys Meyers Rescues Orphans

When Chow Yun Fat's homeland is invaded by the Japanese, it's up to Jonathan Rhys Meyers and Radha Mitchell to save his country's orphans in the new movie The Children of Huang Shi.

Production Weekly reports that Rhys Meyers, Mitchell, Chow Yun Fat and Michelle Yeoh have been hired for the unfortunately named Roger Spottiswoode's new period drama. Rhys Meyers will play a British journalist named George Hogg who helps an Australian nurse rescue kids from approaching Japanese troops during their World War II invasion in 1937. To escape, Hogg must lead the children on a 1000 trek across China.

Jonathan Rhys Meyers has just finished shooting August Rush and since Children of Huang Shi starts filming November 13th it'll be his next project. Look for Radha Mitchell next in the horror-thriller Rogue.
