Kellan Lutz To Star In Cedars of Lebanon

Amidst all the Twilight Saga: New Moon hype, Kellan Lutz decides to shed his fangs for his next project. As reported by The Wrap, Lutz will star in the family drama Cedars of Lebanon, where Bradley Gregg, who you might remember as Eyeball Chambers from Stand By Me, makes his directorial début. Lutz will play one of two brothers abandoned by their father and left to grow up on their own.

Lutz is one of a handful of actors experiencing instant fame thanks to the world’s obsession with glittery vampires. He can enjoy his newfound stardom for now, but the Twilight Saga has to end at some point and it’ll be vital for Lutz to establish himself as a serious actor before that day comes. Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart may never re-emerge from the bland and lifeless holes they’ve dug with their characters, Bella Swan and Edward Cullen, but Lutz has a fighting chance, and a serious drama could be just what he needs to have a career post-Twilight.

Even with Prom Night on his resume, I’m giving Lutz the benefit of the doubt and betting he’s got some talent buried under those muscles. We’ll get a little taste of what he’s capable of when the A Nightmare on Elm Street reboot hits theaters on August 30th.
