The Kinky Items Dakota Johnson Stole From The Set Of Fifty Shades Of Grey

Fifty Shades of Grey seemed like a difficult shoot for Dakota Johnson. There have been numerous reports about how she didn’t really get along with co-star Jamie Dornan. The director, Sam Taylor-Johnson, was repeatedly feuding with Fifty Shades author E.L. James. And, you know, Johnson had to be naked, exposed and – for lack of a better term – sexually tortured for large chunks of the production. The last thing you think the actress would want is a souvenir, yet she reportedly stole a few sentimental items from the set as keepsakes.

Dakota Johnson participated in a Glamour Twitter Q-and-A to address inquiries from curious audience members. Multiple fans wanted to know if she kept anything from the shoot – a common practice on movie sets that occurs when the cast and crew disband following production. Johnson admitted to one fan:

I do have a flogger in my house (it’s in the garage with dust)

What? She’s not putting that to good use on a nightly basis? For shame. Later in the chat, Dakota Johnson was asked is she took any clothing items from the set. This is an unusual question because, outside of Anastasia’s drab college wear, Johnson doesn’t wear a lot of clothing in Fifty Shades of Grey. Unless red ropes count. Do red ropes count? But Johnson did reveal, to this inquiry:

I stole lots of the underwear – they were comfortable

You know, comfortable enough during the nine or 10 minutes that she kept it on.

Fifty Shades of Grey is an enormous hit, earning $265 million dollars internationally in its opening frame. Dakota Johnson and Jamie Dornan now will forever be linked to the characters of Anastasia and Christian, and while Universal has yet to officially announce its plans for the next adaptations of E.L. JamesFifty Shades follow ups, Johnson addressed the sequel in the chat. She answered "Absolutely" when asked if she was looking forward to Fifty Shades Darker, the second story in James’ erotic trilogy. And she talked about things she’d like to add to Christian Grey’s personality. Things like humor.

Given the financial success of the first movie, we assume that Universal will get the wheels moving on the Fifty Shades sequels very soon. Dakota Johnson is going to have to go back into that garage and dust off the flogger. Hopefully there’s room in the sequel budget for fresh underwear.
