Latest Muppets Most Wanted TV Spot Wonders Why It Didn't Win All Of The Golden Globes

If you watched the Golden Globes last night, you saw films like 12 Years A Slave, Gravity, The Wolf of Wall Street, American Hustle and more pull off big wins - but you may have also noticed that no awards were won by the upcoming Muppets Most Wanted. This probably has something to do with the fact that the movie won't actually be out in theaters for critic and audience approval until March, but it's still the weird complaint that motivates the latest TV spot released by Disney.

This new preview is really a different on a very similar one that the film released last week, which was a more broad way of making fun of Tweet-based advertising. For comparison purposes you can watch the previously released spot below:

If you've been following movie news since the start of the new year, you know that there's been quite a bit of Muppet-related news popping up in the last few weeks. In addition to the new TV spots, Disney has also announced that the special Monsters University short film Party Central will be playing in front of all screenings of Muppets Most Wanted in theaters. I also recently wrote about my own personal experience visiting the set of Muppets Most Wanted in Los Angeles, where I had the chance to actually talk with Kermit, Miss Piggy and Walter and talk with them all about the new movie. You can read all about it HERE.

In the new movie, which is the first direct sequel in the Muppets franchise, the titular gang decides to take full advantage of their resurrected popularity and head off on a traveling tour around Europe. Problems arise, however, when their paths cross with Constantine, the world's most notorious thief who also happens to be nearly identical to Kermit. Ricky Gervais, Tina Fey and Ty Burrell will play the main human roles in the film, and there will be more than a few celebrity cameos thrown in. James Bobin is once again directing, having co-written the script with Nicholas Stoller.

Muppets Most Wanted will be in theaters on March 21st.
