Look Behind The Scenes Of Joyful Noise

Among the films headed our way next month is Joyful Noise, a music-focused film starring Dolly Parton and Queen Latifah. This featurette video looks behind the scenes of the movie and gives us a look at the music, drama and comedy, as well as the antics of Latifah and Parton’s characters, which includes spaghetti-tossing and a headlock.

Todd Graff’s Joyful Noise stars Latifah and Parton as two choir members who disagree on how to pull off a win for their church choir at a national competition. The trailer for the movie gives us a glimpse of some of the covers of popular hits, which have been incorporated with gospel music, and we see more of that in the video below (courtesy of iTunes). It also sounds like Parton has written at least one song for the movie...

Joyful Noise looks like it’ll be a fun, uplifting movie, especially for those who appreciate musicals or in this case, music-themed movies. I expect it'll be somewhat predictable, but that doesn't mean it won't be entertaining. The appeal brought by Latifah and Parton certainly doesn’t hurt either. It’ll be interesting to see how they mesh together on screen, especially considering it looks like they’ll be at odds with one another.

Joyful Noise hits theaters January 13, 2012. More on the film can be found in our Blend Film Database.
