Lupita Nyong'o And Gwendoline Christie Might Look Like This In Star Wars: Episode VII

Call it early onset fatigue, but I have at best been feigning enthusiasm over Star Wars: Episode VII news for a few months now. Blame it on the underwhelming prequels. Blame it on my conflicted opinion of J.J. Abrams as a filmmaker. Blame it on an endless stream of updates, real and speculated. As of yesterday I was personally thinking of Star Wars: Episode VII as an eventuality more than an event movie. Then came the news: Lupita Nyong'o and Gwendoline Christie had signed on!

I first saw the news on Twitter and thought it might be a cruel joke--by someone I'd promptly unfollow if that was the case. Instead, it's like the geek gods (or you know Disney producers) heard the outcry for more heroines and gave us a response so good it seemed impossible to believe. The goddess of the red carpet and Game of Thrones' Brienne of Tarth in one movie together!? I was overwhelmed with joy and so I took to Twitter.

I tried to focus and get back to work, but then I had a stray thought of Lupita Nyong'o bringing her fierce fashion sense--along with her stellar screen presence and Academy Award-winning talent--to the Star Wars universe. Forget Leia's blah white dress and gold bikini. Let's go couture with Nyongo's Oscar night look + a lightsaber.

The one at the top of the page might be my favorite. But I also love me some glamorous Gwendoline.

I might have gotten this out of my system now. I might move on with my day. My work. Whatever. Or I might be open to new inspirations… Tweet at me with yours.
