A Pair Of Wolvie Directors

The director is the backbone of a film. While there may be other departments that stand out, the director is the one who choreographs each aspect of filmmaking and send it dancing onto the silver screen. Strong directors should be credited (or blamed?) for the recent explosion of comic book movies. Raimi, Nolan and Singer are all bringing larger-than-life superheroes to the screen with both style and substance. But these are major names the likes of Spider-man, Batman, X-men and Superman. So what happens when you have a comic book movie spin off like Wolverine? It gets the shaft. Word is that Fox is in talks with D.J Caruso (Disturbia) and Len Wiseman (Live Free or Die Hard) to helm the Wolverine feature, reports IESB.net.

Either way this is bad news for Wolvie. These are third-rate directors who make fourth-rate films. They aren’t the type of talent die-hard comic book fans want holding the reigns to the story of how Wolverine got his claws. Spin offs? Lame directors? Sounds like a receipt for a cash in. Could this be the end of the comic book movie glory days?
