New Line Cinema has snatched up another yet-to-be-published book for movie translation. This time it's an upcoming rom-com novel from Eileen Cook called "In the Stars", according to Variety.
The book isn't due till February, but being the early bird has become the norm on these things for idea-empty studios. This worm is about a fake psychic who tries to win her ex-boyfriend back by giving his current girlfriend a reading carefully crafted to split them up. Things don't work out exactly as planned. Her prediction becomes true, people start taking her seriously, and she becomes famous.
So far New Line hasn't done much with it besides buy the movie rights and hand it off to a couple of producers. But come on, this has Renee Zellweger written all over it.
