Rise Of The Guardian Character Posters Give Fuller Looks At Legends

Earlier this spring Dreamworks released a thoroughly enchanting trailerfor their upcoming animated adventure The Rise of the Guardians. Based on William Joyce's The Guardians of Childhood novels and adapted by the author, this beautifully realized epic unveils a side to several mythic figures from our childhoods that we never imagined.

From Santa Claus to the Easter Bunny and the Tooth Fairy, Joyce gives each classic character a new life and charmingly radical twist that director Peter Ramsey (Monsters vs Aliens) has manifested into vibrant CGI creations. Of course, the trailer not only showed a tattooed Santa, and barefoot Jack Frost, but also gave a glimpse of Pitch, a nightmarish boogeyman from the darkest corners of childhood fears.

It was a masterfully crafted bit of marketing that sparked our interest, and left us wanting more. And now Dreamworks is giving in, providing Apple a gallery of character posters—viewable below—that allow us to get a good look at each of the intriguing feature's heroes, as well as their harrowing villain.

Beyond their well-known duties of bringing winter, gifts, painted eggs, coins for teeth, and slumber, the Guardians are a band of figures with incredible abilities that are charged with watching over all mankind. But when an evil spirit called Pitch (Jude Law) rises with aims of world domination, Jack Frost (Chris Pine), Santa Clause (Alec Baldwin), The Easter Bunny (Hugh Jackman), The Tooth Fairy (Isla Fisher) and The Sandman must confront their greatest threat yet.

The Rise of the Guardians will hit theaters November 21st.
