Rollergirl Molds Young Minds

Heather Graham will play the beatnik wife of Dylan McDermott in a new indie movie about child abuse, according to The Hollywood Reporter. She and McDermott have been cast as the Aunt and Uncle of two 12-year-olds trying on an adventure to improve their lives after enduring abusive parents. Graham and McDermott apparently take them in and try to teach them about their "alternative" lifestyle. I wonder if that means Heather should dust off her Rollergirl costume?

The movie is called A West Texas Children's Story and it's being directed by Brad Isaacs, who once had a hand in writing Phil Hartman's funniest performances on television. He's credited with a genius "News Radio" episode called The Cane in which Hartman's character Bill McNeal decides to start using well… a cane as an annoying affectation.

"News Radio" isn't even his only great television credit. Isaacs has written for such shows as "Newhart", "Rosanne", and "The Larry Sanders Show". He may not have much history in film, but this guy has skins. Brad Isaacs knows funny, so what's he doing making his directorial debut with a drama?
