Subscribe To See The 4K Resoration Of Lawrence Of Arabia In Theaters This Thursday Updates
As we've told you a number of times already, this is a big week for the James Bond franchise as it's been 50 years since the first movie's premiere in London, but Dr. No isn't the only classic film celebrating its 50th anniversary this year. One must also remember that we are now five decades removed from the release of David Lean's Oscar-winning classic Lawrence of Arabia, and this week you'll be able to celebrate in the best way possible.

As we told you back in August, a brand new 4k restoration of the original film print was recently done for the upcoming Blu-ray release on November 13th, but that's not the only way to see it, nor the best. Rather, this Thursday on October 4th at 1:00pm and 7:00pm local time Lawrence of Arabia will be played in theaters nationwide. Presented by NCM Fathom Events and Sony Pictures Entertainment, the event will feature much more than just the movie, as it will have an exclusive intro by Omar Sharif, newsreel footage of the New York premiere, and footage of King Hussein visiting the film set in Aqaba where he met David Lean, Sam Spiegel and Peter O’Toole. There will also be a discussion with Martin Scorsese discussing "the overarching themes of Lawrence of Arabia and its influence on other iconic films" (via a press release).

So how can you get your tickets? All you have to do is go to and look to find which of the 630 movie theaters playing the movie is closest to you. And now, for your viewing pleasure, I present the restoration's trailer:
