Zack Snyder Says His Superman Movie Will Have Nothing To Do With The Justice League

One of the biggest stories of this past week has been the revelation that Warner Bros. wants to have a Justice League movie ready for 2013. While it's long been known that Christopher Nolan's Batman trilogy is a self-contained entity, one question that continues to hang out in the ether is whether or not Zack Snyder's take on Superman will be as well. Fortunately, the director is still out doing press and answering questions.

HeyUGuys caught up with Snyder on the red carpet of the Sucker Punch UK premiere, and when they asked if his Man of Steel film would tie into a bigger picture, his answer was a pretty clear, "No." Said Snyder,

"What Chris Nolan is doing and what I’m doing with Superman, what they’ll do with Justice League will be it’s own thing with it’s own Batman and own Superman. We’ll be over here with our movie and they’ll kinda get to do it twice which is kinda cool"

Now the question that remains is if Green Lantern will fit in, but it's pretty safe to say that it will probably be a no too. It looks like WB is trying to bring back the Justice League idea they had a couple years ago, that would have starred Armie Hammer and Teresa Palmer, amongst others. In the light of everything Marvel's doing, mistakes and all, this feels like a half-assed approach. Either do it the right way, or don't do it at all.
