A Montage Of Lex Luthor Noises Might Be The Most Annoying Batman V Superman Video

Of the many issues that many people had with Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Lex Luthor may have been one of the biggest. It seems a lot of people didn't like him at all. Now, we think we may know why. He made a lot of really funny noises throughout the movie, and somebody thought it was a good idea to supercut all of them together. This may get irritating.

I'll be honest, when watching Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice the first time through, I didn't notice that a near minute of Jesse Eisenberg's dialogue was just grunts and groans, but YouTube channel Inside Reviews apparently did. The character didn't bother me quite as much as he appeared to infuriate other viewers of the film, but maybe I just wasn't looking closely enough. It does make for an interesting dichotomy between Superman and Lex Luthor. Lex apparently can't shut up, so he needs to make noises even when he's not actually saying anything, while Superman spends the majority of Dawn of Justice mute.

Lex Luthor has been through many changes over the decades in the comic books, so there were a number of different ways Batman v Superman could have gone with the character. This version was a bit more, we'll go with "kooky," than what many fans are familiar with. Generally, Lex takes things a bit more seriously and is in better control of himself. The insane villain is the opposite of Batman, and many fans did compare Jesse Eisenberg's portrayal of Lex Luthor to that of the Joker for this reason. The Joker will have to up his game to "out crazy" Lex, but based on what we've heard, Jared Leto has that covered.

Like him or hate him, we likely haven't seen the last of Jesse Eisenberg's Lex Luthor. There have been rumors that we could see him as early as next weekend, in a cameo as part of Suicide Squad. Even if that doesn't happen, he's likely set to appear in Justice League, as he is the reason that the aliens are on their way to Earth. He is Superman's most famous villain, so we know he'll be an ongoing part of the DCEU story. You don't use Lex Luthor as a one-off bad guy.

What did you think of Lex Luthor in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice? Were the grunts and noises getting on your nerves the first time, or did you enjoy the Mark Zuckerberg version of the supervillain? Are you looking forward to seeing him again down the road? Let us know your thoughts in the comments.
