We still have so many questions about what's going to happen in Star Wars: The Last Jedi but one question that has been answered regards Rey's fashion decisions in the new film. Our best look at Rey in the trailer for Star Wars: The Last Jedi has her sporting a similar look to what she had in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, however, new information about a Star Wars video game confirms that she'll change things up at some point in the film, check it out.
Star Wars Battlefront II was officially announced as part of Star Wars Celebration Orlando and has been one of the most talked about games since then. While the new title adds a welcome single player component that was lacking in the previous title, the multiplayer is still the game's focal point. As such, the game is offering versions of Kylo Ren and Rey as playable characters for those who pre-order the new title. These versions are specifically described as being Star Wars: The Last Jedi designs. We knew that Rey would let her hair down in The Last Jedi as we got a glimpse of her on the packaging for the new Star Wars toys that will be released with the new film. However, here we get a look at her entire body and we can see that she'll also be sporting a new outfit. It's a bit darker than what she spent most of the previous movie wearing. Probably a bit more fitting for a Jedi in training. Or whatever she is
It's likely also worth noting that the Kylo Ren look is also designated as a Star Wars: The Last Jedi design. The fact that the design doesn't include the mask might be an indication of something. We saw a smoldering object in the Last Jedi trailer that certainly appeared to be Kylo Ren's mask, though that wasn't entirely clear. While seeing the character without a mask here is not confirmation that he'll be going sans mask the entire film, it is an indication in that direction.
While these images are video game approximations of the character, they still look really good and clearly show off what each character will look like in the new movie. The game's single player story has been confirmed to be canon so the game clearly has the blessing of Disney, it takes place between episodes VI and VII, but the multiplayer is a free-for-all that will include characters from al over the Star Wars universe.
Unfortunately, the designs are the only new information here. Each of the characters will have special abilities, but Kylo Ren's ability to freeze people in place and Rey's ability to control minds were both on display in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, so that doesn't give us anything new to play with.
What do you think of these character looks? Let us know in the comments.
