Toy Story

One of Disney's theme parks is currently undergoing major construction to add two entirely new lands to the park. However, guests to Walt Disney World will soon be able to preview what the areas will look like when they're done. Disney Parks has announced that the theater and museum at Disney's Hollywood Studios called Walt Disney: One Man's Dream is being reinvented and will soon become something called Walt Disney Presents. Now, in addition to showing historical Disney items, it will also be a preview center giving guests a glimpse of what's to come. When it opens in mid-September, it will include a complete model of what the new Toy Story Land will look like, as well as a partial model of the other new land, Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge.

During the recent Disney D23 Expo, a complete model was unveiled which showed off what Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge will look like when it opens at Disneyland in 2019. While the expectation is that the version at Disney's Hollywood Studios will be very similar to its California counterpart, it will have all the same rides and restaurants, there will likely be some differences simply due to the fact that the landscape is different. The announcement from the Disney Parks Blog does say that only "a portion" of Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge will be on display, so hopefully that portion will be the aspects that make the version in that park unique.

While Walt Disney World guests will only get a small glimpse of Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge, they will have a much more complete look at the upcoming Toy Story Land. Walt Disney Presents will include concept art, physical maquettes of ride vehicles and a much more complete model of the entire land. All this will go up just about a year before the new land opens as Toy Story Land is set to debut at Disney's Hollywood Studios next summer.

Finally, Walt Disney Presents will also be showing off concept art for a new ride at Disney's Hollywood Studios, Mickey and Minnie's Runaway Railway. The rude was also announced at the D23 Expo. It will be replacing the Great Movie Ride which is actually seeing its last day of riders today. Starting tomorrow the ride will close down as work on Mickey and Minnie Mouse's first Disney theme park ride begins.

Walt Disney Presents will mirror a space inside Disney's California Adventure called the Walt Disney Imagineering Blue Sky Cellar, which also contains a rotating exhibit of whatever new things are coming to either DCA or Disneyland. Since Disney Parks are in perpetual development, there is always something on the way. making these places worth checking out every time you check out the parks.
