Sebastian Stan Is Still Joking About Looking Like Mark Hamill

Celebrity look-alikes are always fun. But what is even more fun is when a celebrity look-alike is another celebrity. The internet has been well aware for some time now that actor Sebastian Stan looks like a young Mark Hamill and it is true, the resemblance is uncanny. The two actors have been made aware of their doppleganger-esque resemblance and they have had their share of fun with it. Mark Hamill is currently making the rounds promoting his upcoming return to the role of Luke Skywalker in Star Wars: The Last Jedi (as if it needs promoting) and Sebastian Stan couldn't help joking about the resemblance during a recent Good Morning America appearance. Take a look.

Sebastian Stan decided to film a fun little video comparing himself to Mark Hamill a little more and noting similarities even between their current bearded looks. He also had a little fun with Hamill, affectionately referring to him as 'dad' in the clip. It's actually great to see that they are still having fun with this. Mark Hamill has joked in the past about being Sebastian Stan's father due to the likeness, of course using the 'I am your father' line. During Good Morning America, Sebastian Stan gets to play this faux relationship up even more. It's kind of cool that the fan community discovered this resemblance and, instead of ignoring it or becoming annoyed by it, the two actors have both decided to continue the joke. Mark Hamill also addressed what many fans have been curious about and hoped for, that Sebastian Stan could one day play Luke Skywalker, and he seemed in favor of the idea.

We have no reason to believe there will be a young Luke Skywalker movie or that the character will make an appearance in any films set before The Force Awakens. Still, since Disney revealed it intends on making Star Wars films for many years to come, the company is going to needs stories to tell. While Star Wars is finally branching out to new places and characters, Disney knows that fans like seeing the characters they know and love, too. There are many years between the events of Return of the Jedi and The Force Awakens, so who knows what has happened to Luke, how many adventures he's gone on and what battles he's fought! There is room for him to show up in any number of films set during that time period. Heck, clones exist in this universe so the possibilities are endless.

Who better to play a young Luke, should it happen, than Sebastian Stan? Unlike some of the names pitched to play Han Solo in Solo: A Star Wars Story due to looks alone, Sebastian Stan is an accomplished actor who not only looks the part but also is already a part of the Disney family. Time will tell if this is just a fun coincidence or if it is the catalyst to something more. In the meantime you can see Sebastian Stan's Winter Soldier, unfrozen and heading to battle in the amazing trailer for Avengers: Infinity War and you can catch the one true Luke Skywalker in Star Wars: The Last Jedi in theaters on December 15th.
