Every member of the Justice League ensemble brings something unique to the table. Batman (Ben Affleck) provides an angry and seasoned sense of justice, The Flash (Ezra Miller) has a sense of youthful exuberance, and Superman (Henry Cavill) serves as a constant beacon of hope. Then there's Diana Prince (Gal Gadot), who continues the themes of teamwork and cooperation established in Wonder Woman. In fact, Gal Gadot recently opened up and admitted that those qualities were among the most important parts of bringing The Amazon into this superhero team. In an interview on the Justice League home release, the actress explained:

For me, it was really important that she would be the glue of the team. That we would track the same character that we established in the Wonder Woman movie. One of the most beautiful qualities are the fact that she just cares for people in the most sincere way. So I made a point out of the importance of Diana being this glue to the team. That she would make each and every one of them, even if it's in small moments, feel stronger and loved and capable.

So while Batman technically gets credit for serving as the driving force to bring the Justice League together, Diana Prince is the one who keeps them together. She finds ways to appeal to every member of the team's emotional core (notably Ray Fisher's Cyborg), and from the beginning, it was essential to Gal Gadot for Diana to get "small moments" to build up her friends and allies. After all, much of Diana's hopeful personality seems rooted in the fact that Diana always sees the best in people, and that was something that Gadot wanted to see carried over from her previous work in the silver screen DC universe.

These qualities echo important character beats seen in Patty Jenkins' Wonder Woman. In Diana Prince's origin movie, The Amazon very clearly takes an interest in each member of her team. Whether this involves talking to Chief (Eugene Brave Rock) about why he navigates both sides of the battlefield or encouraging Charlie (Ewen Bremner) to sing for them as they ride their horses through the woods, Diana's presence as a member of a team seems predicated mainly on her ability to keep people together.

Now that Wonder Woman and Justice League have introduced audiences to these qualities, we will have to wait and see how the folks behind the DCEU continue to flesh them out. With that in mind, Gal Gadot is already gearing up to re-team with Wonder Woman director Patty Jenkins for Wonder Woman 2, and some rumors have suggested that she will also appear in The Flash: Flashpoint as well. If we continue to track her arc in the same way, then it stands to reason that her status as the "glue" of the Justice League may continue to play a vital role moving forward.

Justice League is now available on Digital HD, while the Blu-ray edition of the film is currently available for pre-order and will hit shelves next month on March 13. Looking beyond the League's first adventure, Diana Prince will make her next solo appearance on the big screen when Wonder Woman 2 hits theaters next year on November 1, 2019.
