The Last Stand is teaming up with Lionsgate in a last-ditch effort to attempt to make money on the project. The Arnold Schwarzenegger vehicle is getting a rather quick turnaround onto Blu-ray, DVD, digital download and On Demand. An earlier digital download release is becoming a popular trend and The Last Stand will be no exception, with digital downloads available on April 30th. The Blu-ray, DVD, and On Demand versions of the flick will be available three weeks later, on May 21.

The Last Stand seemed like the perfect vehicle for Schwarzenegger, with plenty of action, a ridiculous hero, and reasonably witty one-liners peppering its trailer. Despite earning decent reviews, the film only made $12 million dollars at the domestic box office. That’s less than a lot of movies make during the first weekend of release and is, by definition, a flop. Still, if you did happen to catch the flick and would like to own it, the set doesn’t look half bad.

If you just want to catch the flick, which follows a group of dangerous mercenaries headed straight toward a small town that won’t take crap from outlaws, the digital download may be your best option. However, there are plenty of bonus features that will be available with the Blu-ray and DVD release, so if you want to see any behind-the-scenes footage or a slew of deleted scenes, I’d suggest going the physical copy route.
