Here we go again. On a recent episode of Keeping Up with the Kardashians, Kim Kardashian discussed The Secrets of My Life, the controversial memoir by Caitlyn Jenner. On the episode, Kardashian received an advanced copy of the book, which went to bookstores in April of this year. Kardashian agreed to read the memoir after her mom, Kris Jenner, had implored her to do so. Kris Jenner had asked Kim Kardashian to let her know whether or not she was overdramatizing the severity of the stories, which Kris Jenner maintained were fabrications. Later, Caitlyn Jenner paid a visit to Kardashian to speak with the 36-year-old reality television personality and talk about the book. Speaking to Caitlyn Jenner, Kardashian made her stance crystal clear, saying,
Mom's obviously upset about it, so if those are your feelings, those are your feelings, but mom feels a certain way about you, and she has the right... I'm going to read it and tell you honestly [what I think about it]. Talk bad about my mom, I come for you.
Yikes! You never want Kim Kardashian to say she is going to "come for you" if you step out of line. Just ask Taylor Swift.
On the E! show, Kim Kardashian also talked with her sister, Kourtney Kardashian, about some of the allegations in the memoir, including the topic of money. According to the Kardashian sisters, Caitlyn Jenner negatively portrayed Kris Jenner's handling of the family's money. What's interesting is the statements Kim Kardashian made seemed to mirror what she said when she sat down for an interview with Ellen DeGeneres in April of this year. At that time, Kardashian admitted she and Caitlyn Jenner no longer spoke to each other. Also, Kardashian indicated the memoir had influenced her decision not to talk to Jenner, and she suggested the book had some false stories that hurt her mother's feelings.
Furthermore, Kim Kardashian's description of the strained relationship corresponded with Caitlyn Jenner recently saying she had not spoken to Kim Kardashian or her sister, Khloe Kardashian, in ages. Then during a truth-telling segment of Andy Cohen's show, Kim Kardashian said she believed there was almost no chance Caitlyn Jenner and Kris Jenner will ever reconcile their differences.
Kim Kardashian and Caitlyn Jenner once shared a sweet father-daughter relationship. In fact, Jenner walked Kardashian down the aisle twice. Of course, those moments occurred long before Bruce Jenner transitioned genders to become Caitlyn Jenner--which was not necessarily the heart of the family problems but undoubtedly complicated matters. Even after Caitlyn Jenner began her gender reassignment journey, Kardashian remained a staunch advocate for her former family member. Seemingly, the straw that broke the camel's back was when Caitlyn Jenner began speaking and writing about the problems she and Kris Jenner had in their more than two decades of marriage. We'll have to see if the situation improves or if the bridges have been burned once and for all.
