Watch Chevy Chase As Clark Griswold In Christmas Vacation Inspired Old Navy Ad

Tis the season to be merry! ("That's my name!"). The holiday commercials have begun to air and among them, an Old Navy commercial that waxes nostalgic the Griswold way. No, not by accidentally locking itself in an attic and watching old videos. But rather, by featuring none other than Clark Griswold himself as he once again attempts to light up his house while surrounded by his family.
Old Navy's had some fun with nostalgic ads lately, including a couple of Beverly Hills, 90210 commercials. And most recently, just in time for the holidays, the clothing store nabbed Chevy Chase to help promote their Pop Pants by reprising his role as the enthusiastic Clark Griswold. The commercial below revisits a scene from Christmas Vacation during which Clark attempts to switch on the 25,000 imported Italian twinkle lights he fixed to the exterior of his home. This time around, it's not just the house that lights up.
Those pants sure do Pop. Points to the ad for bringing Chase, as no one could replace Clark Griswold. And points for finding women who resemble Beverly D'Angelo and Juliette Lewis for Ellen and Audrey. Or is that actually them? Hard to tell because their close-up is brief (Update: Zap2It says it's them!). The rocketing Santa and Clark's "Joy to the World" shout make up for the lack of Rusty.
Here's part of the original scene…
