ABC Fall 2016 Schedule Announced, Scandal Delayed

Next year is going to be a new year for ABC, and the network is pushing really hard to bring new comedies and more to the foray. Prior to the network’s upfront presentation, ABC decided to shuffle some stuff around and add a few new series to the network. The addition of new stuff unfortunately means that veteran program Scandal will be pulled off of the schedule and won’t return until midseason, along with Shonda Rhimes’ newer series The Catch. You can check out what else is returning and what might be missing, below.

The most interesting thing this fall TV schedule probably reveals is the fact that Secrets and Lies will not be back until the fall. The show hit the schedule at midseason last year and then was renewed for a second season. However, ABC ultimately did not bring the drama back at midseason this year. I presumed we would be getting new episodes sometime this summer, but when the drama did not pop up in ABC's announced lineup, I was a little surprised. Now, new episodes are being held until the fall, although we don't know if the production just needed some additional time to come together or if it was a conscious choice on ABC's part to hold the series until fall. We do know for sure that the show will look very different when it returns.

New series are in ALL CAPS. In addition, times are all listed in ET.
