Dan Harmon Has Started Trolling Rick And Morty Fans Asking About Season 3

After being teased with footage and clips for months, fans of Rick and Morty are beginning to grow restless. When will we finally see Season 3 of Rick And Morty? If creator Dan Harmon knows, he's certainly not telling. In fact, he's begun taking to Twitter to start trolling fans who ask when the show will be back. Here's the latest.

As a Rick and Morty fan, I don't know if I should feel offended or honored to be called a "dick face" by Dan Harmon. We can tackle that debate later; what is important is that we have some sort of solid update on the outlook of Season 3 of Rick and Morty! Mind you, it's not entirely useful as we have absolutely no idea how far the team has gotten in the drawing process. There was a video showing a clip of Season 3 uploaded by the team early in January. Give that a look right here.

As you can tell from the clip, the animation is really rough, there's sound missing, and minimal music featured. Personally, I'm not an animation expert, but I would assume that it takes longer than a month's time for the drawing process to go from a rough cut to the final product. Some of the clips looked good, but still a far cry from the Rick And Morty we see on television. Then again, the full voice acting for the clip may indicate that the drawing process is the final step before we see Season 3!

We brought you the news when Dan Harmon last clarified the reason for the delay last week, essentially saying that it boiled down to perfectionism and wanting to make sure the funniest jokes made it into Season 3 of Rick And Morty. He also made it clear that the decision of when Rick And Morty Season 3 would run essentially falls under Adult Swim's domain and not his own. So, I can kind-of understand the shade he's throwing on Twitter. While that may mean Adult Swim may choose a more attractive time in the year than midway through the TV season, it doesn't mean the soonest we'll see Rick And Morty will be next fall. In fact, Season 2 of Rick and Morty premiered July 26th, 2015 which is a little more non-traditional compared to your average hot show release date.

Considering the show is among Adult Swim's highest acclaimed original programming, I'm sure that whatever time Dan Harmon and the team need to complete Season 3 of Rick And Morty will be granted. I can only imagine they are just as eager as the fans to see what the Harmon and co-creator Justin Roiland come up with for the latest adventures of Rick Sanchez and his grandson Morty. Let's all just hope that the wait will end sooner than later! Until then we can always enjoy the plethora of new shows premiering right now, which you can keep track of with our midseason premiere guide!
