Ask anyone to start naming reality TV shows, and there's an extremely good chance you'll hear Keeping Up with the Kardashians before you draw your next breath. The long-running series has been as big a hit for E! as anything else the network has delivered to audiences over the years, and the already sizable list of Kardashian-filled spinoffs has grown by one today. E! has put in the official order for a docu-series devoted to the teenage multi-millionaire Kylie Jenner, and it's got the admittedly great-for-a-pun title Life of Kylie.
The Kardashian family gets targeted a lot online for various reasons -- with one oft-used judgment claiming the younger generation is famous simply for being famous -- but it's hard to argue against Kylie Jenner already making the most of her financial and social advantages, which is part of what Life of Kylie will center on. Currently being set up as a half-hour series that will run for eight episodes, the Kylie-focused spinoff would take viewers deeper into the young mogul's ridiculously busy professional life, as well as her highly visible personal life.
A wearer of many hats, Kylie Jenner will show fans more about her entrepreneurial nature by taking us into her life as the CEO and founder of the extremely successful Kylie Cosmetics, and we'll also get to see aspects of how being a TV star, fashion designer, author and style magnet affects her daily goings-on. Of course, fans know from following Jenner's social media accounts that work isn't the only way she spends her time, and Life of Kylie will also showcase some more leisurely activities, helped along by bringing in her friend Jordyn Woods. (And hopefully no Pepsi products will be involved.)
Life of Kylie is the latest in a long line of Keeping Up with the Kardashians spinoffs; it's the second following the highly publicized I Am Cait, which centered on Caitlyn Jenner and her transition into full-blown womanhood -- it was cancelled after two seasons -- and the first after Rob & Chyna, which has a second season set to air later this year. Other offshoots include Kourtney and Kim Take New York, Dash Dolls, Khloé & Lamar and more. There's supposedly an adult animated project also getting talked about, so we might get a whole Kardashians channel before too much longer.
While there's no premiere date set yet for Life of Kylie, E! plans on debuting the spinoff series at some point this summer. In the meantime, you can watch Keeping Up with the Kardashians Season 13 when it airs Sunday nights.
