Season 14 of Grey's Anatomy has been an interesting one. The first half of the season was very much focused on the return of Owen Hunt's sister, which brought back Kim Raver's Teddy Altman after many seasons. Ultimately the plot line was used as a way to write off Nathan Riggs, making Teddy's anticipated return to the series feel a bit cheap. But it looks like Raver will once again scrub into Grey's Anatomy, as she'll be back for more episodes in Season 14's back half. But the question is: what is she going to be doing?

News of Kim Raver's return, which comes to us from TV Line, to Grey's Anatomy is sure to excite the purists who have been watching the show religiously for the past 14 seasons. While Teddy Altman wasn't an original cast member, she had some great scenes during her tenure on the series. Perhaps the most fascinating was Teddy's relationship with Owen Hunt, and the love triangle that she was wrapped up in alongside he and Cristina. But now that Owen is single, it could finally be the right time for Hunt and Teddy to become a couple.

When Teddy showed back up earlier this season, Owen tried flirted with the idea of pursuing something with her. They've long had a bond, and the romance is palpable whenever the two share the screen. But Hunt was still married to Amelia at the time, and Teddy refused to be the other woman. Now that Amelia's brain tumor has been removed the couple has separated, its the perfect time for Teddy to show back up and finally give it a go with her best friend.

Considering Owen's romantic history on Grey's Anatomy, it's about time he can finally settle down and be happy. Cristina always had a hard time balancing her professional ambition with her romantic relationships, resulting in Hunt constantly coming in second place. The two fought and made up for years before Sandra Oh eventually left the series, opening the way for the plot between he and Amelia. But McDreamy's sister had her own set of issues, and she was never really able to give Hunt the attention he deserved. But Teddy could change this all.

If Teddy and Owen end up finally having a romantic relationship, perhaps that means that Kim Raver might return to Grey's Anatomy in a more permanent way. The medical drama is showing no signs of slowing down, with a spinoff and a web series currently in the works. Series lead Ellen Pompeo recently signed on for another two years with the series, meaning Grey's will likely continue through Season 16. With Grey's offering their actors opportunities to both produce and direct the show, perhaps Raver will want to get back in on the action and start carving up patients. She's also got a recurring role in Designated Survivor, so we'll just have to see.
