One NCIS: New Orleans Character Will Be In A Lot Of Danger Soon

It was only recently when NCIS: New Orleans said farewell to star Shalita Grant and Agent Sonja Percy, and the CBS drama is already making fans nervous about the fate of another main character. It sounds like Season 4 will be wrapping up with a storyline that will make Vanessa Ferlito's Agent Tammy Gregorio the target of a serial killer. Dun-dun-dunnn!

For the Season 4 finale, which is set to air on May 1, Gregorio will be tracking down a serial killer. That's nothing too out of the ordinary for CBS primetime, but things get twisted when the killer figures out that he or she is being tracked, and then changes tactics to make Gregorio the next victim. The episode will apparently push the Special Agent to her limits, both emotionally and physically, according to TVLine. But that can't possibly mean that NCIS: New Orleans will do the unthinkable by killing Gregorio off, right?

General common sense would say no, but modern TV has often kicked common sense to the curb, especially when it comes to major character deaths. Now, NCIS: New Orleans obviously isn't working with a giant ensemble cast full of potentially expendable people, like Game of Thrones or The Walking Dead, so there aren't a whole lot of other characters to start paying attention to whenever one goes away. But then if Gregorio was killed off in the finale, then the show could easily just hire someone else during the summer hiatus.

Let's not even jump to such conclusions just yet, however, and let's go with the assumption that she'll either survive without issue. Or that it'll at least be a cliffhanger, and she'll survive without issue in the Season 5 premiere.

After all, Shalita Grant's absence is still a big thing for fans, so taking away another major female character would be pretty showy for NCIS: New Orleans' writing team. Granted, Percy didn't actually die in the show, so Gregorio's situation will be a completely different thing, but it would still be horrible if she died. Or if anyone else did, beyond that bastard serial killer.

Vanessa Ferlito first joined NCIS: New Orleans as Tammy Gregorio back in the Season 3 premiere, when she was part of an FBI investigation looking into Pride's team. After she started working with them, relationships bloomed, and she ended up joining the team in a full capacity by the middle of the season, and she's been a force to be reckoned with ever since. Here's hoping she retains that force through the season finale credits and deep into Season 5 and beyond.

NCIS: New Orleans airs on CBS on Tuesday nights at 10:00 p.m. ET, with its big Season 4 finale coming on Tuesday, May 1.
